What are some struggles you've faced with your mental health?
Mental health was something I struggled with from an early age without really realising at the time as a result of losing my dad when I was 14 and my brother when I was 16 With this came a lot of anxiety and depression and later lead me down a path of gambling to keep my mind off things.
What do you do to keep you mental health in-check?
I took up hiking last June as a way to keep busy, stay fit and channel my emotions in a different way, meeting new people and sharing stories along the way
What is something you're looking forward to doing?
I’m doing the 268 mile Pennine way in 2 weeks wild camping for 10 days to push myself to the limits and to test my new mental strength being isolated and out of my comfort zone. I will be sharing the highs and lows on my profile so people know it’s okay to suffer at times which I’ve no doubt I will.
What advice would you give to someone struggling with their mental health?
My advice to people suffering with mental health would be “you will never meet a darkness you won’t outshine” be your true authentic self and know that your life is the most precious thing and to just live it your way.
